FRG and SFRG Events Near Fort Bragg NC

Planning an FRG or SFRG event near Fort Bragg

This should not feel like trying to convince everyone to attend another meeting.

Battle House Laser Tag in Fayetteville gives Soldiers, spouses, children, volunteers, and unit leaders an activity they can experience together. Your group can play mission based tactical laser tag, share a meal, recognize volunteers, welcome new Families, and use our large event room for meetings or unit led training.

The Army now refers to Family Readiness Groups as Soldier and Family Readiness Groups, or SFRGs. Many Soldiers and spouses still call them FRGs, so we understand either term.

Whatever your unit calls it, Battle House provides a place where people can connect without spending the entire event sitting in folding chairs.

A Fort Bragg Family Readiness Event People Will Attend

SFRG events help Soldiers and Families build connections before those connections are needed.

That can be especially important when a unit is welcoming new Families, preparing for a deployment, reconnecting after a deployment, introducing community resources, or simply trying to help spouses and children get to know one another.

Battle House makes that first connection easier.

Once the mission begins, everyone immediately has something in common. Teams communicate, protect objectives, solve problems, and compete together. The activity creates conversations naturally, which is considerably easier than asking 40 people to introduce themselves one at a time.

Battle House is a strong option for:

  • SFRG family days
  • FRG social events
  • New Family welcome events
  • Volunteer appreciation outings
  • Deployment preparation gatherings
  • Redeployment and reintegration events
  • Unit morale days
  • Spouse events
  • Soldier and Family celebrations
  • Holiday gatherings
  • Command team events

Tactical Laser Tag for Soldiers, Spouses and Kids

Battle House is not ordinary arcade laser tag.

Players enter a large indoor arena with multiple structures, tactical props, elevated positions, and mission objectives. Depending on the game, teams may need to defend an area, recover an item, escort a teammate, hold territory, or complete another objective before time runs out.

Players use tactical laser tag equipment that records hits electronically. There are no paintballs, pellets, bruises from ammunition, or additional ammunition charges.

Our staff provides the equipment briefing, explains the safety rules, divides the players into teams, and leads the missions. Some Soldiers will immediately develop a detailed plan. Some spouses will improve that plan.

The children will probably ignore both and somehow win anyway.

Combine Laser Tag, Food and Unit Business

A FRG event often needs more than an activity.

Your group may also need time for food, introductions, announcements, resource information, volunteer recognition, Family training, or a presentation from the command team.

Battle House has a large event and conference room that can be added to your group reservation. Your unit can use the room before or after laser tag for:

  • Catered meals or delivered food
  • SFRG meetings
  • Newcomer introductions
  • Command updates
  • Deployment resource information
  • Volunteer recognition
  • Family readiness presentations
  • Unit led classes or training
  • Awards and celebrations
  • After action discussions

A typical event could begin with check in and laser tag, followed by food and a unit meeting in the event room.

Another option is to rotate a large group. One section can play while another eats, attends a presentation, or receives information in the conference room. The groups can then switch.

Tell us what your unit needs, and we can help organize the schedule around the game time and room use.

A Fayetteville Event Option for Army Chaplains

Army chaplains and Religious Support Teams often plan events that combine recreation, conversation, relationship building, and training.

Battle House can provide the activity and meeting space in one Fayetteville location.

A chaplain led event might begin with tactical laser tag and continue in the conference room with food, relationship education, Family communication training, resilience discussions, spiritual readiness programming, or another unit selected topic.

The Battle House staff manages the laser tag experience. The chaplain, Religious Affairs Specialist, or unit representative leads the meeting and training portion.

This format can work for:

  • Soldier and Family enrichment events
  • Single Soldier outings
  • Couples events
  • Parent and child activities
  • Unit ministry team events
  • Resilience days
  • Marriage enrichment gatherings
  • Family communication events
  • Chaplain led morale activities

It gives participants time to have fun together before moving into the more structured part of the day.

People tend to talk more comfortably after they have already spent an hour trying to capture an objective together.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions About Fort Bragg FRG Events

Some Fort Bragg leaders may remember planning activities through Army Morale, Welfare and Recreation or participating in Warrior Adventure Quest, commonly shortened to WAQ.

Others may now be searching for Outdoor Recreation Adventures, tactical laser tag for military units, or a local alternative for a unit morale event.

Battle House is an independently booked, off post Fayetteville venue. It is not a replacement for formal Army training and this page does not represent a current Warrior Adventure Quest or Army MWR program.

However, Battle House does offer many of the features leaders are usually looking for in an active group experience:

  • A shared challenge
  • Mission based gameplay
  • Communication and teamwork
  • Friendly competition
  • A controlled indoor environment
  • Staff led activities
  • Space for a unit led discussion afterward

Units are responsible for confirming their own purchasing, funding, approval, transportation, and participation requirements.

Battle House can work with a small SFRG group, a platoon sized event, or a much larger unit Family day.

Approximately 45 players can participate in the arena during one game period. Larger events can be arranged by reserving a longer block of time and rotating groups through the arena.

For example, one group can play while another group uses the conference room for food, resources, or training. The groups then switch.

Battle House has hosted events with more than 100 participants using this type of rotation.

For larger events, contact us before booking so we can discuss:

  • Total expected attendance
  • Number of players
  • Ages of participating children
  • Amount of laser tag time
  • Conference room requirements
  • Food plans
  • Training or presentation time
  • Private arena options
  • Off hours scheduling

Advance planning helps us reserve the correct amount of time and staff the event properly.

It can seat about 30 comfortably.  But we can had groups of 50 squeeze in.

Approximately 45 to 50 players can participate in the arena at one time. Larger groups can reserve a longer event and rotate participants between laser tag, food, meetings, and other activities.

Off hours and private events may be available with advance planning. Contact the Fayetteville location with your requested date, time, group size, and event schedule.

Battle House is an independently operated Fayetteville entertainment venue unless an event is booked through a separate approved arrangement. Groups searching for Army MWR activities, Warrior Adventure Quest, WAQ, or Outdoor Recreation Adventures may consider Battle House as an off post group activity, but units should confirm their own approval and funding requirements.
